This opening session will offer a brief introduction / recap to the fundamental principles and basic components of Cloud Computing, before hearing about some of the developments in the field.

Session Two:  Breakouts

Session two will allow delegates the chance to identify and discuss in smaller groups some specific issues around Cloud practice. Designed to cover some of the major issues Cloud presents - such as data security and accountability, and green credentials - it will also offer a chance to identify which cloud method would suit you best.

Session Three: Making Cloud a Reality

Session three will identify key steps to ensure migration to the Cloud, offering a case study from a public ector organisation who have successfully achieved this change.  It will also identify why and how cloud computing can and should result in a more transparent way of working across and throughout a company.

Session Four: Supporting local economies and growing communities

Our final session of the day will look at the contribution of other developments, such as Open Standards and Open Source Software, to localism and the potential benefits they and Cloud working can bring to local communities. To close, we will place Cloud back within the Scottish context, discussing implementation going forward.
